Historical Context

The Virginia La Tassa Local History Room, at the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library, houses an extensive collection of Local History books, photographs, maps, postcards, newsletters, and memorabilia. Their mission is to collect, preserve and disseminate information pertaining to the past, present, and future of its community.

Scope of Collection

The collection consists of oral history recordings of local residents who have lived in the tri-hamlet communities of Mastics, Moriches, and Shirley, NY most of their lives.
