John Henry Rushton (1843-1906) was a famous Adirondack Boat builder based out of Canton, NY. He specialized in small and lightweight canoes designed to navigate the Adirondack Mountains' many waterways. He was also well known for decked sailing canoes, which were canoes designed with a keel and sail to navigate with much less manpower than a traditional paddled canoe. This collection focuses on photographs and artifacts of and about John Henry Rushton that are held by the St. Lawrence County Historical Association.
