Columbia County Historical Society

About

Columbia County Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) cultural education organization founded in 1916 and chartered by the Board of Regents, New York State Department of Education, to collect, preserve, interpret and present the history, heritage and culture of Columbia County, New York. CCHS maintains four historic properties and a collection of more than 10,000 historical objects, manuscripts, rare books, artwork and more. Our mission is to encourage understanding, knowledge and preservation of Columbia County's culture and heritage through acquisition and conservation of historic artwork, architecture, properties, objects and documents, and through the sponsorship of research, publications, exhibitions and educational programs.

Columbia County Historical Society is a member of the Southeastern New York Library Resources Council.
